Tea garden

Bangladesh is an important tea producing country.
Its tea industry dates back to British rule,when the East India Company initated the tea trade in Chittagong in 1840.
Today the country has 172 commercial tea estates, including many of the world's largest working plantations.
The industry accounts for 3% of global tea production, and employs more than 4 million people.
The tea is grown in the northern and eastern districts, the highlands,temperature climate,
 humidity and heavy rainfall within these districts provide a favourable ground for the production of high-quality tea.

There are many tea growing area in bangladesh .
They are Moulvibazar ,Hobigonj,Sylet, Chittagong, Panchagarh etc.
Of them Srimangal is the main tea growing area .
Thousand thousand acors of tea gardens are look like green carpet.
Besides the natural beauty, the tea garden is also the source of workplace.
Almost 300,000 workers are employed in tea garden .
If you visit a tea garden , you will feel you stay in a green sea.
